Fall 2022 Kicks Off August 27th

The Flint Rogues open up their Fall 2022 season with a fixture at Detroit RFC. As the spring season wrapped up, the Rogues set their sights on winning the Fall season, and becoming Division 4 champions.

Rogues begin 2017 with a test against Tradesmen-D3

The Flint Rogues Rugby Club will open their 2017 campaign with a test match against Detroit Tradesmen-D3 tomorrow in Southfield. The Rogues last met the Tradesmen-D3  in October, losing 26-34 in league play

“We have the youngest team we’ve fielded in some time…” said Rogues manager, Jeff Krumpholz “We want to give everyone a run Saturday, and see where we are at.”

This will be the only warm up for the Rogues before the league concludes in two weeks. Flint finished the fall portion of Division III play going 2-6. Two league matches remain; April 8th versus Tri-Cities, and April 15th at Traverse Bay.

Kickoff is tomorrow at 1pm. The match will be held at Glen W. Levey Middle School, located at 25300 W. 9 Mile Rd, Southfield, Michigan 48033.

A “…night to celebrate our tradition…” Rogues pay tribute to 2016

The Flint Rogues Rugby Club held their annual banquet this weekend to honor the individual accomplishments of the past year.

Among the award recipients was Matt Miller, who was voted “Forward of the Year” by his peers.

Miller stated on Facebook “(I’m) very humbled and honored for this award. I love this club and this city that it represents. I am extremely proud to be a Flint Rogue.”

Rorii Hill was voted the team MVP. Hill, who was unavailable for comment, spent most of the evening in solemn reflection of his accomplishment.

Rogue of the Year: Howel King

Rogue of the year went to club president Howel King. King, who has been at the helm of the club, received a standing ovation after an introduction from Mr. Rob Moquin.

Moquin stated “If it wasn’t for Howel, this club wouldn’t have progressed to where it is now.”

King graciously thanked the team for the award, and encouraged everyone to take part in the future progress of the club.

As the night came to an end, team manager Jeff Krumpholz shared “It was a good night to celebrate our tradition, 2017 is going to be even better.”

Rogues Continue Winter Conditioning; Spring Schedule Released

The Flint Rogues Rugby Club will commence their 45th season with an away test against the Detroit Tradesman on March 25th. With the first match less then two months away, winter conditioning has begun with determination.

“We had some close games in the fall,” said Rogues hooker Matt Miller, “If we were conditioned the way we needed to be…those close games would have gone in our favor.”

The Rogues wrapped up the fall part of the season with 2 wins and 6 loses. Flint started strong, winning two of their first three games only to drop the last five. The Rogues held close loses to Kalamazoo and Detroit Tradesman-D3.

The Division III season will resume April 8th at home against the Tri-City Barbarians, then conclude with an away match at Traverse Bay Blues on April 15th.

Another match of interest will be the Rogue Cup on May 6th. The “border battle” against the Canadians will be at Longway Park, where Flint will attempt to reclaim the cup from the Windsor Rogues.

The Rogues are are also looking for new players. No rugby experience is necessary, just a passion for Flint. The Rogues are currently conditioning at Insight Health and Fitness, located at 4500 Saginaw St, Flint MI.
